CPP Investments expands portfolio carbon-footprint reporting
CPP Investments introduced portfolio-level disclosure covering carbon intensity and transition-governance indicators. For its C$787 billion investment portfolio at March 31, excluding government securities, 86.7% was below its 40 tCO2e/EVIC intensity threshold. It said 83.5% of evidence-confirmed investments were covered by third-party transition-governance indicators, with annual disclosure planned.
CPP Investments introduced additional portfolio-level disclosure covering carbon intensity and transition-governance indicators. Its framework classifies holdings by carbon intensity and observable evidence of transition governance, including Science Based Targets initiative targets, Transition Pathway Initiative levels, or participation in its Decarbonization Investment Approach. For its C$787 billion investment portfolio at March 31, 2026, excluding government-issued securities, 86.7% was below the 40 tCO2e/EVIC threshold. CPP Investments said approximately 83.5% of evidence-confirmed investments were covered by third-party indicators, with the remainder covered by its Decarbonization Investment Approach; the metrics will be disclosed annually.
