NSIA participates in $750 million climate-resilient infrastructure fund

Africa Finance Corporation said the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority is among investors in its US$750 million Infrastructure Climate-Resilient Fund. The fund includes a Nigeria-focused closed-end platform designed to mobilise domestic institutional capital. AFC expects the broader vehicle to mobilise as much as US$3.7 billion and build a portfolio of 10 to 12 infrastructure projects across Africa.

AFC Capital Partners launched the SEC-registered Infrastructure Climate-Resilient Fund Nigeria as a closed-end platform to mobilise Nigerian institutional capital for climate-resilient infrastructure in Nigeria and across Africa. The vehicle is designed for pension fund administrators, insurers, asset managers and other institutional investors. The broader US$750 million Infrastructure Climate-Resilient Fund includes the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority among participating investors, alongside the European Investment Bank, Development Bank of Southern Africa and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti. AFC expects the fund to mobilise up to US$3.7 billion and build a 10-to-12-project African infrastructure portfolio.
