NZ Super Fund appoints Alex Bacchus as Head of Asset Allocation
The Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation appointed Alex Bacchus as Head of Asset Allocation, effective in early September. Bacchus has been with the Guardians for 17 years and led its strategic-tilting programme since 2014. He succeeds Charles Hyde, who is leaving for a role abroad; the Guardians manages the $94 billion NZ Super Fund.
The Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation appointed Alex Bacchus as Head of Asset Allocation, with the role beginning in early September. Bacchus has spent 17 years at the Guardians and has led its strategic-tilting programme since 2014. He replaces Charles Hyde, who is leaving to take a role abroad. The Guardians said asset allocation is a pivotal investment role and cited Bacchus’s experience across risk, portfolio construction and strategic tilting. The organisation manages the $94 billion NZ Super Fund.
